Have just gone through early menopause and have developed terrible finger nails, - flaking, peeling, very soft is there a problem?





What would be the most probable causes?

If you have not already done it, get your thyroid checked.





I went through the same thing, thinking it was age. Then I got my thyroid checked, found out I have a deficiency, started taking medication, and they got better. They are still worse than when I was younger, but not as bad as without the thyroid medication.
